No Phillips 24-Hour Release Feed
The Phillips County Sheriff's Office did not provide a 24-hour released-inmate view in the official public interface examined on July 18, 2026. Its Inmate Roster is expressly for current inmate listings and custody information. The embedded PlutoSites table has no release-date column, released-status switch, or way to choose a same-day window. It must not be relabeled as a Phillips County 24-hour release list.
The absence is about the public interface. It does not mean the Sheriff's Office keeps no internal booking or release entry. A precise same-day inquiry should seek the existing jail record for a named person and a narrow detention period. That record is the direct route to the physical event, while a court docket can explain the order or case event behind it.
Check Phillips 24-Hour Releases
Because there is no browseable same-day list, the inquiry must start with a person or booking episode. Note the full name, any known date of birth, and the closest arrest or booking date. Keep the period tight. This helps the records custodian identify an existing entry without assuming which fields the office maintains.
- Check the current sheriff roster. Presence means the person is shown in county custody at the time checked. Absence is only a lead.
- Call Phillips County Jail at 785-543-6885 and ask whether the booking episode ended in release or transfer.
- Request the existing booking and release entry. Ask for release date and time, disposition code, and receiving agency if those fields are maintained and public.
- Use the Kansas District Court Public Access Portal to inspect the Phillips County criminal docket for the legal event.
- If state custody is possible, check KASPER for an inmate, parole, postrelease, or discharged status.
The sheriff entry and court docket answer different questions. The jail record shows whether physical county custody ended. The docket may show bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, commitment, or another order. A sound request asks for “the existing booking and release entry, including any maintained” fields from the table. Phillips County publishes no release-request form and no sheriff fee schedule online. Kansas open-records law permits reasonable fees, so ask for an estimate before work begins if cost matters.
Phillips Same-Day Fallback Chain
Start with the Phillips County Sheriff's Office because it operated the jail and controls the physical booking and release record. Written requests may be sent to the office at 301 State Street, Suite G, Phillipsburg, KS 67661. Identify the person, give a narrow date range, and ask for the existing entry rather than asking the office to create a new list. Under K.S.A. 45-218, an agency that cannot grant access at once must provide a detailed explanation of the cause of delay and the earliest time and place the record will be available within three business days.
Kansas VINELink is another county-jail channel. It can provide custody-change notification for participating county records, but it is not a public Phillips County 24-hour browse list. It also does not cover KDOC state-prison offenders. When the sheriff record shows a transfer to state custody, KASPER becomes the correct next source. A transfer is not release to the community.
The Phillips County 72-hour release list process uses a wider reconstruction period when the exact day is uncertain. It does not expose a hidden public feed. Both windows still require direct records and case checks.
Note: Save the date and time of each check because Phillips County publishes no roster cadence or post-release visibility period.
Phillips Release or Transfer
“Released” describes the end of one custody event, not the person's complete status. Someone may leave Phillips County Jail on bond, after time served, after a dismissal or other order, or under probation. The same person may instead transfer to KDOC, another jail, ICE, or another authority. Each path sends the inquiry to a different record system.

For federal custody, the Bureau of Prisons locator is separate. ICE also has its own locator. Neither source substitutes for the Phillips County booking and release record. Likewise, a court order does not state the exact time the jail completed processing.
Phillips Bond Release Checks
The sheriff maintains a local bonding-agency list of companies and individual agents authorized to write bail bonds in Phillips County. That is a useful local starting point when the case involves bond. It does not turn the public roster's bond column into proof that payment was made or that jail processing ended.
A listed bond amount or bond type describes the live roster entry. To verify a same-day bond release, seek the sheriff's release entry and compare it with the District Court docket. The docket can show the bond order or later case action, while the sheriff record supplies the physical release time. A bondsman's involvement alone cannot settle either point.
Note: Bond can end county custody while the criminal case remains open, so keep custody status and court status separate.
Phillips Roster Is Current-Only
The PlutoSites display is an iframe-hosted current-inmate table, not a historical database. It shows age, sex, race, separated name fields, arrest date, book date, charges, bond, bond type, and a mugshot control. It does not show booking number, release time, release type, destination, receiving agency, or a current-versus-released switch.
The live table was searchable and sortable when researched. Those controls help locate a current row. They do not recover a row after removal or establish why it is gone. Phillips County also publishes no update frequency, archive, or retention period for this interface.
